When she wants to run away from all the music/fame scene she goes there :) because there paparazzi aren’t that annoying as in USA, she can spent more quite time.

Avril lives in los angeles or new york or canada? (sorry for my bad english :(... )

If I’m not wrong most of the time she lives in Los Angeles, even tho she spents a lot of time in NY, Canada and France.
